THE BARD'S

BIRTHDAY ALE.

15TH MAY 2010

To celebrate William Shakespeare's 446th birthday, Church End Brewery and RBH are delighted to announce a series of new beers.

Church End Brewery, based in Shakespeare's county, is creating 12 new ales during 2010 with the first four available in time for The Bard's birthday on 23rd April.
The range of beers is based on light-hearted quips from Shakespeare's plays or quotations, such as 'Julius Seizure', 'Have Two Brute' and 'Much A Brew About Nothing' with eight more imaginatively titled creations available throughout the year. The ales will be available from any of the real ale pubs stocking Church End beers.

The April brew is simply called 'Shakesbeer' and has a blend of four hops and four malts, along with a hint of chocolate, to give it a light brown colour with an ABV of 4.0%.
To celebrate the introduction of these fine ales, we have created an outdoor poster campaign, a series of beer mats and an online viral campaign showing The Bard 'shaking his beer' in a series of videos. By uploading their own similar videos, visitors can win a polypin of 'Shakesbeer' to sample themselves.

Church End Brewery also have their own series of Shakespeare celebrations taking place during the weekend of 22nd-25th April at The Brewery Tap on Ridge Lane, Nuneaton, including an Elizabethan games night.

Tim Rees, Chairman at RBH said, "Everyone knows that it's tradition to enjoy The Bard's greatest works with a pint of real ale. We're simply reminding people of this great custom and once again promoting some great new brews from our friends at Church End."
